 Access is via plane to Biarritz, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Pau, Zaragossa and Toulouse. Train takes you to Pau which is only an hour away.
 

Directions for ‘Gatenia’, Licq Athérey
from Mauleon or Biarritz. 

From Mauleon drive to Tardets (15 kilometres)  Drive straight through the town square of Tardets (narrow at one point). Carry on and after about a kilometre turn right at the sign marked;

                    Licq-Atherey
                    Larrau     
                    ‘Frontiere d’Espagne’.

After about three kilometres, passing Laguinge, the road bends round  right entering Licq past a hamlet of houses on either side of the road. You will then pass a bridge on the right over the river. (This is to Athérey)  Carry on up the hill for about four hundred metres until you see a left bend with the green rubbish bin on the right.

You can park in the lay-by thereby or a hundred metres further down the road there is another lay by. Ours is the larger of the two houses opposite on the left. Our back gate is up the slope towards our garage.  

Directions from Pau to Licq Atherey
 

From the centre of Pau follow the signs for Oloron through Jurancon and Gan.

When you arrive in Oloron follow the “ Toutes Directions “ sign until you see Leclerc supermarket on your right. Continue round two roundabouts, following the green signs to Saragosse. At the 3^rd roundabout look for Tardets to your right.(This is the difficult bit!)

You travel on the D919 through Féas and Ance to Aramits where there is a right turn onto D918.

After 15 mins you should arrive in Montory, continue for 2 miles until you see the D26  “ Frontiere Espagne “ sign

This is on the left . Follow this road past the village of
Laguinge. You will see a  sign that says “ Bienvenue aLicq Athérey”. You are near ! We are on the left hand side on the bend.
